In the year 2000, Door
Masters of Texas invested in a state of the art production
shop and finish facility to ensure the quality of its product. Doors
are first prepared and sanded smooth prior to entry into an EPA qualified
spray booth where stain is applied to the units. After hand staining, the
doors and door systems are moved to a drying room, to insure conformity
of stain color. Any given door or door system might undergo several trips
to the stain room and subsequently to the drying room depending on the number
of coats of stain you have chosen for your door color. After the stain has dried,
the doors begin their top coat finish process. After each coat is applied,
the door is moved back to the drying room until dry. Each door is then removed
from the finish area and rubbed with the finest steel wool (0000) prior
to application of further coats of marine grade (spar) urethane. Some competitors
spray their doors (stain and top coats) in the same open area as they sand
and prepare their doors. Come see the difference an uncontaminated finish
makes on fine philippine mahogany doors and doors systems!
